We were invited by Lions Club of Skudai to attend their function titled "Major Community Service" held on Sunday, 11th November, 2007
from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm at Lien Hoe Complex.

Three members from our club, President Liza Lau, Lion Edward Lee and Lion Richard Chiang went to attend the Opening Ceremony at
1.00 pm. The Guest-of-Honour was YB Freddie Long and the Special Guest was none other than our District Governor Raymond Tang.
Spouse of District Governor, Lion Josephine Quan and Cabinet Secretary Lion Margaret Yun accompanied District Governor to the
function. The opening ceremony lasted about an hour and after that the entourage of District Governor left for Segamat immediately to visit
some Lions Clubs.

During the opening ceremony, Lions Club of Skudai donated 50 first-aid boxes to St Johns Ambulance Malaysia, Kawasan Johor Bahru
costing a total of RM2,500.00 at RM50.00 per box. The prizes for the Joint Zone 18 Peace Poster, Colouring & Drawing Contests held
earlier in another day were also given out during the opening ceremony. The clubs that took part in these contests were Lions Clubs of
Skudai, Kulai, Senai & JB Taman Century. But only JB Taman Century and Skudai were present to witness the prize giving ceremony.

The function was well run and all members of Lions Club of Skudai co-operated very well to put up such a great event comprising of
multiple projects such as haircutting, eye-sight screening, bone mass test, blood glucose test, dialysis exhibition. Parts of the proceeds
solicited would be channeled towards the building fund of JB Lions Renal Care Foundation. The organizing committee would finalized the
sum to be donated at the end of the function. Besides this, there was another counter managed by Staff Nurse, Wahidah Bte Yahaya from
the Organs Transplant Unit of Hospital Sultanah Aminah to register Organs Pledge from the public. 14 people came forward to pledge
their organs.

We are proud to attend this meaningful function and we wish to dedicate this page to Lions Club of Skudai to congratulate them for
their effort in bringing lots of benefits to the needy community. Well done and three hearty Lions Roars to Them !
