The month of December 2007 started with a little bang but exploded in all directions as most of the Lions Clubs in Region 8 joint hand-in-hand in organizing
a Charity Dinner in aid of the Building Fund for JB Lions Renal Care Foundation. Foundation Chairman, DC Anthony Tiah and Organizing Chairman, DC Koo
Chi Seng and the Organizing Committee worked tremendously hard to make this event a really successful one. The guest-of-Honour was none other than
our PCC Albert Tan and the special guest was YB Tan Cher Puk, Adun Johor Jaya who was represented by Mr Tay Chin Chye as he was engaged in a prior
engagement. The function attracted 940 guests, supporters & Lions, which were equivalent to 94 tables. The total sum solicited was about RM247,500.00
which included the donation of 3 dialysis machines.
1st VP Lion Richard Chiang and Tamer Lion Edward Lee represented our club in the Organizing Committee. Our club had earlier on, during the Charter
Night Celebration on Sunday, 24th June 2007, donated RM2,000.00 to JB Lions Renal Care Foundation for its building fund. In this Charity Dinner, our club
helped to sell 68 tickets at RM100.00 each. One of our members, Lion Teo Yen Huat also donated RM500.00 to the Building Fund.
Members of our club who attended the function were Lion Rachel Yap, her spouse Mr. Yeong, & daughter JingCi, Lion Richard Chiang & spouse, and Lion
Gan Chin Siong.
