Welcome

On March 31st 2007, while the Lawa Residents Committee Meeting was in progress, Committee
Chairman Edward Lee suggested to form a Lions Club in Taman Pelangi Indah.

Subsequently, a Lions Information Night was organized on April 1st 2007 at Tai Son Restaurant. This
occasion attracted more than 30 participants. District Governor Ng Kim Leng, Council Chairman Albert
Tan, Region 8 Chairman Kelvin Lee, Zone 18 Chairman Chen Tek Hing, DC Koo Chi Seng, DC Dr Ding
Liang Hock, DC James Loo and President of Lions Club of JB Host, Lion Maggie Liew were present to
give their support.

A formation night was arranged at JJ Dialysis Centre and the Charter Application was handed over to DC
Extension, Lion Cassie Lim. PDG Jason Kon was the witness at the presentation.

Eventually, LCI granted the club's application on May 8th, 2007 and a Charter Night Celebration was held
on June 24th 2007 at TS Seafood Restaurant which attracted more than 430 well-wishers which included
local and outstation Lions. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Charter Certificate by
District Governor Ng Kim Leng to Charter President Liza Lau.

Charter President Liza Lau took over the helm to lead the club in fiscal year 2007/2008 and became one
of the top clubs in our District. Other top honours also included Top President, Top Secretary, Top
Treasurer and we also became one of the best publishers of club bulletins in the District. It was
indeed a record set by such a young club to be honoured tops in a few disciplines.

Lion Jims Yong was elected President for fiscal year 2008/2009. This fiscal year of 2009/2010 is the third
year of our existence and we have a very young and robustic Lion Gan Chin Siong who was elected to
take the helm of office. All members in the clubs had vowed to support him fully in whatever projects or
endeavours we will be undertaking.
